From an impromptu session. Josh and Jen were a wonderfully easy couple to photograph, and we had great light at the end of the day. I enjoyed the whole process, from capture to final edits. Thanks to both of you, and see you soon.

Chris Gosey, Iconographer
I just finished editing a photography assignment for Parable magazine. I had met Chris last summer, and he welcomed the writer and I into his home for an afternoon a few weeks ago. I think this was the only exposure I made in his living room (most of our time was spent in his multi-room studio), and it's probably my favorite of the entire day.

Anything Goes
So I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the Saint Anselm College Abbey Players' production of Anything Goes last night. The cast and crew put on a great show, and above are just a very small sample of the event.

welcome to March in NH
Over the past few years, I've greatly enjoyed photographing the winter: besides being very peaceful, the landscape being covered in snow provides a wonderful simplicity for making unique compositions with great contrast. This year, however, I've barely ventured outdoors with a camera. Time seems to be at a special premium, but the frigid temperatures have quickly cooled any aspirations of venturing out for artistic purposes.
Fortunately, we've seen plenty of snowfall, and Saturday afternoon (following another 8" on Friday night and Saturday morning) finally provided me the opportunity to get outside (while waiting for the plowers to finish). The first two photos are self-explanatory; the last one is the view of our back deck, which sees neither the sun nor a shovel. I probably attack it once the temperatures rise above freezing; until then, it's not going anywhere, whether we want it or not.
carnation at church
I take photos at church events, primarily for publishing in a weekly e-newsletter. They request that the photos be square, which requires cropping. Experimenting with square crops is something new to me, and this was the best result of the day, since it improves upon the original. If it didn't do that, the crop would pointless.

FD Reeve
These were taken at a recent concert held at the Manchester Community Music School. FD Reeve gave a performance of some of his jazz poetry, entitled "The Blue Cat Walks the Earth", accompanied by Don Davis on saxophone and Joe Deleault on piano. Many thanks to the group for allowing me to photograph a great performance. See the full gallery for more.
