Tammy

I photographed Tammy recently for an upcoming feature in Parable. Most of the photos were taken outdoors, but we stepped inside the church for a moment to review the images. I saw the window light, positioned her, and took a few exposures. I couldn't decide between these two, so I posted both. Please tell me which you prefer.

Heather + Michael's wedding, part 3

Dancing photos only. The kids stole the show--at least in the beginning, while they still had energy (I didn't post the photos of them slumped on parents in exhaustion). A still photo cannot depict their dancing, of course; it can only serve as a reminder to those who were there.

Heather + Michael's wedding, part 1

Last weekend saw the marriage of my cousin Heather to her beloved Michael. I enjoyed attending and taking photos at my leisure (although I found it difficult not to). Here are some from before and during the ceremony.

Congratulations to you both and to your families. More photos to come soon.

Sophia

I was reviewing photos from a baptism last Sunday and found this of our friend's daughter. She has wonderful blue eyes, but I prefer the b&w (although Jessica disagrees).

update

So this past long weekend included a lot of photography: ordinations, parties, and an engagement session in DC; a cousin's wedding; another session for a dating anniversary; and just relaxing with family. I have a ton of editing waiting for me, as well as a trip to Albany this weekend for more photography. I'll be posting regularly as soon as each is finished (in some form).

Maggie + Pat's wedding

Congratulations to Maggie and Pat, who were married just a few hours ago. I was the second photographer, and here are a few of the best:

It was wonderful to meet everyone there. I'll post more in the coming days.

a Sunday afternoon at Magdalen College

I was asked on Friday to do a last-minute shoot for Magdalen College. I accepted on the condition that my children would be present, since Jessica was out for the afternoon. That was fine, so they came along, and I used them as doubles to test my settings--which was doubly convenient, since I can't post the actual photos (they'll be used in an upcoming ad):

I'm sure that Cecilia was only willing to sit because it involved sitting on a rock, while Thomas (who was both sick and tired) couldn't bear to sit long enough for me to capture one image with him sitting next to her.

Shakespeare's birthday

Yesterday (April 23rd) was Shakespeare's birthday, and Saint Anselm College has a great tradition of celebrating it with a marathon reading of all 154 sonnets, interspersed with performances of scenes from his plays. The performances were much more visually interesting (and more challenging to photograph), and here are a few of my favorites:

Hamlet

from The Taming of the Shrew

Wall, from A Midsummer Night's Dream

Puck
